I hate using DreamWeaver to build web.

I love codes.

I don’t really like WYSIWYG tools.

So, if I were to teach Hello World for web, it’s going to be:

Open DW. Click File, New..

I think, to learn a new language, one have to delve into the codes. Never pamper yourself with WYSIWYG tools.

So it makes me happy when someone show me how to code iPhone, creating the UI without using Interface Builder.

No IB were harm in the development of the above simple app. :P

At least for me, it is true.

People says, if you fail to plan, you plan to fail.

Planning is a BIG word if you do not have motivation.

You don’t have money, you don’t have motivation.

No motivation equals to no plan.

No plan = no success = fail.

Luckily, I have plans. But again, I do not have money which in turn I am demotivated.

If no plan means no success, having plans doesn’t guarantee any success.

People says, ideas (plans) favor whoever turns them into action.

To act requires motivation. Because I’m now demotivated, so I don’t act. Because I don’t act, my plans (ideas) don’t favor me.

Therefore, sometimes it’s correct that I’m such a loser.

Luckily, I’m a Muslim.

AlorStar.com‘s progress is slow but steady…
In my plan, the native apps version will eventually follows. There is this one feature, easy to implement but no time to code.. the feature is:  maps with markers floating around user’s location. When this feature turns on, user will see burger stall or 50% jeans sales or yong tau fu stall or budget hotel or whatnot near them. The problem is, how near is near?

I’m currently working hard to finish one project with a law firm. The job worth more than 4 times my previous salary. No big deal. But thank you, ALLAH.

As per my ideal, working as a freelancer, if the job worth a year of standard wage for your qualification, only then can you feel some relief.

So the math is, if you are a degree graduate, that entitles you for a RM24,000 of annual income.  Only a RM24k job will make you satisfied.

  • Xcode
  • jQueryMobile + PhoneGap
  • nimblekit
  • Titanium Developer

Xcode is of course the very right tool to develop iPhone native apps. I still hope I can master this tool which is depends on how fast I can understand Objective C. To understand is one thing, to put all of it together is another thing.

jQueryMobile is great but I’ve problems to port it with PhoneGap. So I gave up on the combination of these two.

So I use jQueryMobile as a base for my first mobile web apps: AlorStar.com. So far it works great.

Nimblekit is also great. But thinking to fork another $99 – beside Apple’s iOS Developer Program enrollment fee which is also $99 – alone make me hold back.

Now, enter Titanium Developer!

Looks great… but I already found some bad comments.. so probably I shouldn’t give much hope on this one either. But I’ll of course give it a try btw.

The best bet is to continue mastering Objective C and all things Cocoa. But I can’t help but to try anything I’m familiar with.

So, I rate it as a success when I can use jQuery Mobile(JavaScript + CSS + HTML) for AlorStar.com. This project is combining the jQM with the use of WordPress. So I master two skills with only one project.

Let’s hope that I can do well in native apps. After all, it’s my career is at stake!
